CALL FOR ARTWORK
Deviant
This group exhibition interrogates "deviance" as a concept, category, label, and worldview. Deviance subverts norms, undermines hegemony, and reimagines traditions. This show celebrates the deviant's powers of disruption, innovation, authenticity, and individuality at the heart of image making practices in the 21st century. At the same time, Deviant does not shy away from its subject's various offenses, complicities, and complications. We seek painted and drawn works that address deviance as a subject, theme, or prompt. Artists are invited to submit works on these themes, whether of a personal and private, or structural and institutional nature.
